Let me tell you about the newest Surf & Yoga Retreat in Lombok!
We have covered so many beautiful places for you to stay in Bali, so it’s only fair if we tell you about this amazing surf and yoga retreat in Bali’s neighbouring island, Lombok.
If you’ve been to Lombok before, you’re probably already familiar with Xanadu Surf & Yoga Village located in Kuta. They have recently opened another one not far from the town centre, but this time around they’ve added a little bit more of a luxurious touch to it!
This new one is called Xanadu Surf & Yoga Boutique Retreat. It’s perched on a hilltop setting, overlooking the breathtaking views of the Kuta bay. They still offer the same retreat packages they’re best known for, but it’s more tailored to cater to your individual preferences.

Most people who come here are surf and yoga enthusiasts that are looking for a little getaway retreat in Lombok. But don’t worry, all levels are welcome here! Xanadu has Surf & Yoga instructors ranging from beginner, to intermediate and advanced level. If you are a complete beginner, then you’ll start your surfing adventure at a dreamy beach break where you simply walk into the water waist deep to catch your first waves and get familiar with the board. The reef breaks for advanced beginners, intermediate and advanced levels are in equally beautiful locations.
Xanadu Surf & Yoga is a little different from most Lombok hotels, this one feels more homey!
The interior style is Scandinavian with a lot of arches and a pop of color here and there. Yellow and orange colors are apparent throughout the space, making it one of Xanadu’s signature styles. The textured walls are a calming neutral shade, paired with beautiful abstract artworks and unique shaped rattan lampshades hanging from the ceiling. These two combinations complement the space really well!

They have designed the dining area to adjoin the open kitchen and living room area. This layout creates community as it allows every guest to hangout in the same common space and connect with each other. This Lombok hotel also has its own restaurant where they serve healthy and delicious food. You can even enjoy your meal at the poolside veranda while taking in the stunning view of the hill.

The architecture was done by Bambook Studio, a well known architectural studio in Lombok specialising in sustainable design. They have successfully merged their creativity and care for the planet to make Xanadu an environmentally friendly surf camp in Lombok.
At Xanadu, they offer different types of rooms; a sharing room, a private single and a private double room. Each one comes with its own ensuite bathroom and floor to ceiling windows, allowing guests to enjoy the view from inside the room! The use of only high quality teak wood furniture can be seen all around the space. Some of the rooms have a little study nook in the corner as well.

The retreat packages at Xanadu are designed with a full week’s stay in mind. They have created two comprehensive 7-day surf and yoga programs to ensure you will get plenty of surf time, complimented by in-depth surf theory sessions on land and restorative yoga or spa in the evenings to relax after a day in the water.Â
They provide everything, from surf boards and instructors, to meals and accommodation. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the turquoise glittering sea and pink sunsets of Lombok!
The surf and wellness programme has been enhanced with some additional activities for an extra experience, such as surf strength training with a professional trainer, foodie workshop, film night and sunset trip with meditation session. I was lucky enough to try their Coco, Sambal, and Coffee workshop which was run by a collective of local women there! They taught us how to make sambal (an Indonesian chilli paste) and a yummy chicken curry!

If you’ve been on the hunt for an all inclusive surf camp in Lombok, you should definitely try Xanadu Surf & Yoga Boutique Retreat! Not only can you wind down and do what you love all day, 7 days a week, you also get to make meaningful connections and lifelong friendships with people who share the same passion as you!
This space is also available for rent if you want to host your own retreat!
