Jalan Padang Linjong has become one of the coolest streets in Canggu. Over the last few years the growth has been immense. I moved there 5 years ago and the only place to get something nice to eat was Samadi Yoga Studio. There were no shops, no cafes and no supermarkets. Only local houses, a few villas, and lots and lots of gorgeous rice fields. When we first moved to my little gang, there were only two villas and a local house. We had rice-fields all around us, it was bliss!
But by the end, the rice fields had disappeared, and we were surrounded by villas everywhere we looked. The upside is that Padang Linjong had become a bit of a hub of cool creatives, entrepreneurs, digital nomads and savvy tourists. My little quiet street had become filled with shops and cafes such as Give, Rise and Shine, Copenhagen, and local wholefood stores, making my daily shopping a lot easier.

When I was asked to shoot Villa Pukara in Padang Linjong, I was surprised by the fact that their backyard had incredible rice field views. Although the nearby gangs (lanes) had been built up, this gang had been spared. These days having a rice field view is a complete luxury that not many people can enjoy while living in Canggu.
And wowsa!! What a house! This three-bedroom villa is astonishing! This was originally a local house that has been renovated and transformed into a spectacular, top-notch villa. The villa consists of 3 buildings. A smaller building, where the first bedroom is, overlooks the large pool and garden. The second building has the other two bedrooms, one downstairs and one upstairs. The downstairs bedroom’s highlight is definitely the bathtub sanctuary. The upstairs bedroom has a beautiful sitting spot next to the window where you have an amazing view of the mountain range.
The two-bedroom building is connected to the final building with a tropical open-style dining room in between them. This open dining area faces the stunning pool, with a beautiful view of the rice-fields and mountains behind. In the main room, we have the super comfy living room, kitchen dining and also a guest powder room. You can completely open or close this living / dining area, which makes it perfect year-round.
Finally, the beautiful outdoor area with its perfectly manicured grass overlooks the endless rice-fields and mountain range! And did I mention the two pools!! Yes, because you know, one is not enough! 😉 In the garden we also have a relaxing built-in sitting area to watch the kids while they swim in the pool.
This is an absolutely incredible house that ticks all the boxes. Perfect for families and equally as great for only adults. A great entertaining house that will make you fall in love with Bali life and the tropical way of living.

Ugh, sorry to hear about your builder. I have heard similar stories too. But that house is STUNNING! I wish I could find a builder in Texas to build a house like they do in Bali. I love the way they design houses there. So gorgeous.
Sadly, it’s a common (and not completely unexpected occurrence in Bali). Gotta focus on what I can do to make it work while we finish off the build!
Is this villa for rent or for sale? Thanks
I think it’s for rent
