Villa Kaiyo might be the hottest new villa in Uluwatu, but its soul belongs to a different era. Ace Studio has successfully captured the essence of a Hollywood Hills mid-century home and translated it into a contemporary modern masterpiece in Bali. The result is a residence that feels like a living piece of history, a bridge between the past and the present.
In the heart of Dreamland Beach, the latest masterpiece from ACE Studio stands tall and proud – Villa Kaiyo. When my good friend, Xenia, called me to do the photoshoot, I was ecstatic as I knew this would be a great shoot. Villa Kaiyo was just recently completed in 2023, and with a land size of 500m2 and a sprawling 600m2 building, this Bingin villa is a solid proof of architectural finesse and design brilliance. It reminds me of the classic LA mansions from the 1950’s with echoes of iconic photographer Slim Aaron’s aura!
Crafted by the visionary Ace Studio, Villa Kaiyo is a manifestation of the flawless intersection between contemporary aesthetics and modern luxury. Upon entering, guests are greeted with an atmosphere that radiates sophistication and grandeur. The interior design reflects a classic contemporary take on mid-century Hollywood Hills homes, with a neutral colour palette that sets the stage for both luxury and simplicity. Every corner of this villa in Uluwatu gives off a distinct Slim Aaron’s vibe, a subtle nod to the glamour of a golden age that has left an indelible mark on the world of design.
One of the standout features of Villa Kaiyo is the unique concrete round dining table. It adds a touch of elegance but also serves as a focal point, inviting residents and guests to gather around for intimate meals and lively conversations. The minimalist furniture throughout the villa complements the overall design, allowing the architectural details and carefully curated decor to shine.
There are 4 bedrooms in this villa, and each of them has a different look. One of the bedrooms has a bunk bed to maximise the space, but every room has their own massive windows to make sure the lights come through. The indoor living room is simple yet sophisticated with a grand spiral staircase and a singular, one-of-a-kind sofa, allowing you to indulge in the ultimate dilemma – whether to be captivated by the television screen or surrender to the panoramic vista unfolding just beyond the glass.
Stepping into the outdoor space, Villa Kaiyo continues to impress with a dedicated BBQ area. This al fresco touch connects the indoor and outdoor living spaces, providing an ideal setting for entertaining family or friends! For those who appreciate the cinematic experience, Villa Kaiyo has an impressive cinema room. This thoughtfully designed space allows you and your loved ones to insert themselves in the magic of film within the comfort of their own home. Whether it’s a cosy movie night or a cinematic celebration, the cinema room adds an extra layer of luxury and entertainment to this Bingin villa experience.
The crowning jewel of Villa Kaiyo for me is undoubtedly its pool with an ocean view. How cool is that! With the sparkling blue water glittering against Bali’s hot sun and the ocean in the background, this is the life!
