The moment you arrive at The Shady Shack you know you have reached a very special place.
Its breezy, open, full of greenery and filled with quirky corners, mismatched furniture and hidden heavenly places to sit, eat and just be.
I like to call it “My Spiritual Home”. I recently took a friend there and she came to the same conclusion. This hidden Echo Beach gem is a place to escape and have a moment of peace. Although you are only one block away from the increasingly busy Batu Bolong, it feels like you are miles away from everything.
The cafe only offers a vegetarian and vegan menu; but don’t be discouraged, it’s still worth the trip even if you love meat (although you won’t find any on it!). The food is delicious and the presentation of each dish is truly a work of art. I highly recommend the Halloumi Salad Bowl and the Shack Attack burger.
The coffees are as good as you would find in a great Melbourne cafe. Heaven.
