DP+ has handled the Moroccan reference with the same intelligence they brought to their other Bali projects: drawing from it without being literal about it. The result is sculptural rather than theatrical. Curved walls, arched architectural details, organic spatial flow, and soft rounded forms create a sensual, grounding atmosphere without the self-consciousness of a themed retreat. This is architecture that has absorbed its reference and made something new from it.
The material palette follows the same logic: textured plaster walls, limewash surfaces, natural stone accents, warm wood, woven materials, linen fabrics, and handcrafted ceramic details. Nothing cold, nothing synthetic, nothing that interrupts the sensory warmth the whole property is built around. Ambient natural lighting and deliberate shadow play are emphasized throughout, creating what the team describes as a cinematic golden-hour atmosphere, a phrase that may sound like marketing until you’re standing inside it and realise it’s simply accurate.
The Colour
Warm terracotta is the visual backbone of Cyrus Villas, running through the palette alongside earthy sand-beige, burnt clay, and sun-washed neutrals. It’s a colour story rooted in Moroccan desert architecture and Balinese tropical sunlight, two reference points that have more in common than they might appear to at first. Both are hot-climate traditions, both favour texture and shadow, both understand that warmth is an atmosphere as much as a temperature.
Custom low-profile furniture with rounded silhouettes, built-in seating, earthy upholstery, and minimalist Moroccan-inspired detailing carry the palette through to the interiors without making any single room feel like a mood board exercise. It feels lived-in, warm, and considered in equal measure.
