Estetica Belle has been one of my quiet recommendations for years. The new space makes it an easy one.
There are certain places you discover early and keep to yourself for a while — not out of selfishness, but because you’re not entirely sure how to explain why they’re good without underselling them. Estetica Belle has been one of those places for me. It opened in Canggu in 2019 and quietly built a reputation as the kind of salon that attracts people who care about both how they look and where they spend their time. When it moved to a new location in Pererenan in October 2025, I was keen to see what they’d done with it.
The short answer is: a lot! The new space, designed by AW Studio, is one of the most considered salon interiors I’ve seen in Bali in some time.
The Space
The brief was earthy, textured, and elevated — and the execution is exactly that, without tipping into any of the clichés those words usually invite. The building itself brought something to work with: original wooden frames, stone flooring, a bones-of-the-place quality that the design respects rather than covers over. What AW Studio layered on top is warm and considered — curvilinear seating upholstered in a deep chocolate teddy-bear fabric that softens the rawness of the stone and wood without domesticating it.
The custom pedicure platform is the room’s visual anchor — a crafted stone mosaic tile set against an earthy textured wall that adds real depth and tactility. It’s the kind of detail that makes you look twice: specific, material, clearly thought about. Elsewhere, newly designed pedicure and manicure chairs, shelving, and mirrors sit alongside marble tables and select pieces carried over from the previous location. A custom end table in gold-grained wood veneer holds its own against the organic stucco wall behind it — an unusual note that feels exactly right.
The Philosophy Behind It
What I appreciate most about Estetica Belle’s approach to this new space is the restraint. Existing furniture was repurposed. Local materials were prioritised. Nothing was ripped out and replaced simply for the sake of newness. The result is a layered interior that feels accumulated rather than installed — the kind of space that has clearly been thought about, not just decorated.
That approach — sustainable, intentional, quietly elevated — maps directly onto the BI values I find myself returning to when I think about what makes a space genuinely worth your time. A salon is somewhere you go to be looked after. The environment should do some of that work too. Here, it does.
Six Years In, and Still Getting Better
There’s something to be said for a business that’s been operating since 2019 in one of Bali’s most competitive neighbourhoods and responded to its growth not by scaling noisily, but by moving into a better space and doing it with more care. Estetica Belle has always had a loyal following — the kind built on word of mouth and genuine quality rather than a well-timed campaign. The new location on Jalan Pantai Pererenan feels like a coming-of-age moment: still the same ethos, now with a space that matches it.
