It certainly seems like the latest fashion for men is barber shops.

The great thing for us is that they have made quite a significant effort to make them look super stylish.

One place in particular that caught my attention is The Roots. Sitting pretty next to Milk & Madu, this barbershop fits perfectly with Canggu’s Hipster scene.

Their exposed brick wall, sets the underground look. The big industrial lamps and the old school barber chairs perfectly complement the style of the barber shop. The other walls have been tiled with a black border at the bottom and the rest in white subway tiles.

The small touches such as the coke machine, the framed pictures on the wall and the old fashioned wall lamps, create a warm but casual atmosphere. And the good news is that The Roots is a chain so you can find it in Surabaya, Jakarta and other Indonesian cities.
