I loved how the designers managed to incorporate recycled materials without sacrificing luxury. My room felt like a secret hideout, with its warm wood accents and clever use of space.
It wasn’t just the aesthetics that won me over. The Komu has an incredible ability to make you feel instantly relaxed. There’s something about the way natural light floods the space, while the gentle breeze that carries the scent of frangipani just melts your worries away. I spent countless hours lounging by the roof pool, sipping on something refreshing, and letting the world fade away.
The ofuro bathtub is the pièce de résistance, it is a traditional Japanese soaking tub that promises ultimate relaxation. Like stepping into a warm embrace after a long day exploring. I could have spent hours soaking in there, watching the world go by through the big, open bathroom. The designers clearly had comfort in mind when they created this space. Every detail, from the perfectly placed lighting to the ergonomic seating, is testament to their careful attention.
I absolutely loved the interiors of the hotel, from my room with my own private plunge pool, to the way the attached living room can be closed off, and the clever design of the middle panel that can be moved to have the tv either in the bedroom or in the living room. I found the designed incredibly clever and beautifully finished. I also got a chance to dine at their Korean/Mexican restaurant, and let me tell you, this place is a hidden gem! My top pick are the tacos. I’m definitely coming back for more! And to top it all off, I love their rooftop pool and bar. It was so nice to go there for a late afternoon swim and drink. It felt like a real retreat from busy Canggu.
I left The Komu feeling refreshed, inspired, and with a newfound appreciation for design. Who knew you could feel this way right in the middle of Canggu!
