When I first came to Bali, I remember driving along Jalan Petitenget and seeing the Rob Peetoom sign. I used to look for it as a landmark to make sure I was going the right way. I always had a feeling it was going to be a beautiful Hair Spa but it was only this year that I found out how beautiful it really is.

Getting your hair done in Bali can often be hit or miss. I had tried a few places and walked out disappointed each time. Finally, after a few great recommendations from trusted friends, I decided to try Rob Peetoom. And Halleluiah! Not only are the service and pricing excellent but the hairdressers are top-notch. And we haven’t even mentioned the space yet.

The design of Rob Peetoom is so Zen that you can’t help but relax as soon as you walk in. Greeted by the receptionist, the waiting area is simple but stunning. The Hair Spa has 3 different large “houses” that are divided by beautiful water and stone features. The main house is the hair salon. It’s a glass house, simply furnished with dividing mirrors and chairs for the customers.

The back of the glasshouse has the washing basins which overlook the adjoining rice fields. Getting a scalp massage while you stare out over rice fields is so Bali! The second house is where the massages and facials take place. It’s a series of lounge chairs where you can lay down and once again look over the pristine rice fields in front. Heaven. This area also contains a couple of private rooms overlooking the rice paddies.

Upstairs is Rob’s private office that doubles as a photo studio. The third area is where the nail spa is located, as well as the stunning bathrooms and the staff headquarters.

Rob Peetoom interiors are chic and refined. It follows the beautiful tranquil aesthetic that you can see in Japanese architecture. It’s minimalist and divine. A little piece of heaven in busy Seminyak. And to be honest, I don’t know if there is any other hair spa in the world as beautiful as Rob Peetoom’s salon.
