Little Flinders brings a little piece of Melbourne coffee culture to the streets of Canggu. This is not just another cookie-cutter restaurant in the coolest new area of Echo Beach. The owners know what they are doing. Owned by husband and wife super team Kathy and Fany Hermawan, they blend extensive knowledge of food and interior design seamlessly. Fany is an award-winning Chef who has worked in Melbourne as a Chef for some renowned restaurants and in Jakarta’s coolest joints, while Kathy is an Interior Designer.
The General Manager Daniel really takes the restaurant to a higher notch, making you feel comfortable and cared for while looking relaxed and happy.
Little Flinders interiors are a mix of gritty and cool Melbourne lanes, combined with reclaimed wooded timber, doors and windows and little Balinese touches of macrame pot plants and Tegel tiles.
There is are artwork and splash-walls that give you hints of Melbourne’s graffiti secret lanes. And there are also beautiful recycled wooden windows and doors that create a very instagramable appeal. And that’s just downstairs! There is a whole upstairs section that has a 50 seat capacity and a great bar sitting area that runs along with the open windows. Perfect for savoring an espresso martini.
The food matches the quality of the interiors – it’s clear that chef Fany knows what he’s doing! The menu is adjusted to fit each season. I highly recommend the Thai Duck Curry and the Barbecued Jack’d Ribs. This place is not to be missed.
