There’s something poetic about Bali hosting an event like the Design Series Festival 2025. This year’s inaugural edition, held on October 30–31 at the Convention Hall of Harris Hotel & Residence Sunset Road, centers around the theme “Movement.” It’s a fitting title for an era where design constantly evolves in response to the changing world — from climate and technology to urban culture and human connection. The festival invites participants to see architecture not as static structures, but as living, breathing responses to how we experience the present moment.
Across two days, exhibitions, showcases, and talks will bring together an impressive lineup of architects from Indonesia and beyond, including Adi Purnomo (mamostudio, Jakarta), Kevin Mark Low (smallprojects, Kuala Lumpur), Conchita Blanco (Blanco Studio, Bali), Komang Suardika (Jeghier Architects, Bali), Daf Ashari & Vany Vanessa (SAMMA Studio, Bali), Japa Wibisana (Studio Tana, Bali), Manuele Mossoni (2M Design Lab, Bali), Svetlin Petrov (KOUSOU INC., Jakarta), Julius Saptian G. (Atelier GVD, Bali), and Tamara Wibowo (Tamara Wibowo Architects, Semarang). Each brings a different interpretation of what “movement” means — from sustainable materials and tactile experiences to the intersection of technology and humanism.
